Re: Engine oil, transmission fluid and filter types for Chrysler 360

So Jeff, would you then recommend a 15w40 High Mileage oil for '88 (original - 1000 hours approx each) 318's?

Asked the "decent shade tree mechanic, but not an expert" guy.

Re: Fresh Water Holding Tank Pump

As to "why not just replace the lines..." You certainly could. My thought is that the cleaning process I mentioned is something that probably needs to be done for systems that have sat for long periods of time without benefit of chlorinated water running thru them on a regular basis. And i...

Re: Fresh Water Holding Tank Pump

Are going to keep the current tank and fill & vent lines? If so, consider disconnecting fill line at tank as well as vent line. You will also want to (ugh!!!) disconnect vent line at hull fitting. Why do this??? So you can run a bleach solution soaked rag through both lines SEVERAL TIMES (each t...

BPBoater...

Thanks for the explanation on why to not use automotive chargers. Had always wondered why but never taken the time to investigate - too many boat/home/other projects to do....

:-) Won't be in the area, sorry. As my signature indicates, boat's down in Aurora, In. on the Ohio R. Between working on her, fixing the popup camper we bought and household projects, I tend to stay in the area for the most part. But thanks for the offer!!!

Re: Bought a 1980 32 SD/FB 360 Chrysler's

Thanks for the pics. I'm going to (elective project) make a bimini cover for my 32' SB. I see that there are diagonal supports/stiffeners running fore/aft on each side. Have you noticed any sideways movement at the stern supports? I was thinking I'd need, even small diagonal supports running side to...
