Re: Bottom paint recommendation

Kim, First, welcome the forum!!! :-) Unsure if your pic's "light area" is actually bare aluminum or a previously painted surface. If bare aluminum, you're going to need to scrape the entire surface to remove any loose paint AND THEN sand all exposed aluminum. This may be more effort as com...

Re: Old gas

Thanks guys for commenting on my issue. The tanks are 100% full / much Seafoam added, so I'll leave as is. Also, thanks for the nice thots on Admiral's late spring / all summer issue. I'm recoup'ing from left hip replacement surgery a week ago (when it rains, it monsoons around here). So I won't be ...

Re: Old gas

Seafoam - good for stabilizing gas in tanks against breakdown, varnishing. Not so hot for water in gas. That's why I'd filled in March. To eliminate any space in tanks for condensation to accumulate. Admittedly, the period between Oct. 2016 and March 2017 without full tanks may have caused some issu...

Re: Old gas

Unfortunately, both of Sunset Seeker's 75gal tanks are full.(topped off in March of this year. There was still 25 - 30 gal of previous season's (2016) gas in tanks (added late fall and Seafoam added at season's end to stabilize) when topped off. At time of top off Seafoam was again added. Because Ad...

Thx! Hey, my kids gave me the nickname "Overkill Bill".....

Re: Marinette purchase advice

Fully agree with Joel! Having said that, those that prefer a "no fly bridge" boat admire their boats for a variety of reasons. In many cases, it's subjective. AKA - there's no "right or wrong" in which is a better configuration. I like our FB for the reasons Joel provided. When b...

Re: 28 prop recommendation

For your piece of mind (and in line with what you're asking), a 2nd opinion will be invaluable. I bought a couple of props this spring from Delta Propeller ( http://www.deltaprop.com/ ). A family situation kept us from putting Sunset Seeker in the water this year so I can't comment on performance. H...

Re: Spark Plug Wires

Not being a true "gear head" but more of a "shade tree mechanic" (tuff to do on a boat! :-) )...
Is there a downside to routing plug wires on the outside of the manifolds (length more than heat)?
