Re: A little crazy?

I do suspect water starvation, but it is really odd how quickly the alarm comes on as the RPM goes up, and then off as the RPM drops. It happens reliably in a second or two. The extension is about 5 ft.

Re: A little crazy?

Here is a picture of the boat. I added ~1200lbs of sand bags, and 5 passengers and the MPG dropped to 2.0 at 30 MPH. 3450 RPM. I have an alarm going off near 3500 rpm. I'm not sure what it is, but it turns on quickly as the RPM nears 3500 RPM, and off as I back off. I verified the Tach is correct wi...

Re: A little crazy?

Hi TinLizzy, I bought a new Mercruiser Mag 350 MPI and Diesel Bravo3 X. Before anyone runs out and tries this it is a hydrofoil, so I don't see just putting a Bravo 3 giving the same result.

Re: A little crazy?

I got out for some tests. I plan to get one more test day in September, and will post pics then. My boat is a very modified 32 Express. With the Bravo 3, and a 350 mag mpi, I was getting 2 -2.2 MPG at 29 MPH, depending on the wind direction, according to my floscan. Below : my wake at 30 MPH, and lo...

Re: Sanding to bright Aluminum

Pics or it didn't happen.. it took 4 days, the first was really no progress, just learning. I will need another day to take all the fittings off, and re-sand for painting. Hopefully I can find a week this fall.

Re: Sanding to bright Aluminum

Thanks for the feedback. I plan to do a final light sanding once I have all the paint and accessories off, and then paint. The timing will be an issue for sure. I will likely do it in separate bits. I have to re-read the primer instructions; I thought it had timing issues too. I have Alodine, suppos...

Re: A little crazy?

Wow, super impressive. I've put a single 350 MPI, and a bravo 3 in my 32 express. I've been making some mods.
I read through this subject twice, and I did not see your new fuel consumption numbers. I may well have missed them.
I would really like to know your MPG at 29/30 MPH.

Sanding to bright Aluminum

I am 2 days in, and I have the roofs and sides of my Marionette 32 sanded. It is going quicker now. I tried an angle grinder and flap disk, which instantly gummed up. I tried a SS wire wheel, which worked great, but fell apart quickly (made in USA 40$, wore a welding hood). I tried a belt sander, wh...
