Chuck, I think it is hard to find cable that long anymore. It worked when it was new unless someone has changed it. Fastjeft has a good lubrication process on his website. The wires in the photo might be a problem if they are hot.

I taken mine to a radiator shop. Have them acid dipped or whatever they use.

This has been a much discussed topic. My rear deck on express replaced 17 years ago & done well until now. Port rear drains are soft. I have followed all the solutions to replace,metal etc. My question has anyone just replaces a section at a time. The floor supports are where one could cut along...

Sounds like a good idea and a automotive aftermarket heater would work fine. It already has the fan and you just plum it into the water line coming off the intake manifold. You would want to put a cutoff valve on it for summer summing running. I've used these in street rod building.

Looks like you will need to pull the head to find out if is valves , gasket or cracked head. No too hard a job.
