Re: Storing Kayaks
Thanks, Jeff. Do you think if I attached several D rings to the swim platform and transom, that it would be sufficient to use some heavy duty bungee cords to hold them down? Or do I need a stronger physical barrier as well (such as a rack or posts). I'm also wondering if I could put some fold up pos...

Storing Kayaks
I have a 32' SFB, just wondering if anyone has experience taking kayaks with them on day trips or longer trips. I am trying to figure out the best way to secure two kayaks outside of the cabin while underway. My preliminary thoughts are to either strap them onto the swim platform, stacked, or to str...

Re: Packing boxes RUDDER
I realize this is an old post, but trying to figure out where to get rudder stuffing boxes. Would the ones linked below work? I have a 32' with 1 inch prop shafts (assuming the rudder shafts are the same diameter).

Chrysler 318 Oil Pan Gasket
I'm looking for an oil pan gasket for a Chrysler 318, which I believe would be FelPro 17991, Chrysler Marine 3780198, or Victor OS30520M, for an aluminum oil pan. However, it appears that there are none of these in stock anywhere online. Any recommendations for sourcing one of these?
Thanks!

Re: Coupler Alignment - Vibration
Agreed, Joel! I was explicit that I expect them to be more careful going forward, and talked about where the straps need to be placed. I will be reminding them the next time we pull it out.

Re: Coupler Alignment - Vibration
Following up, I talked with the marina owner and told him what I expect happened. I didn't ask for anything in particular (I had a spare used shaft to replace it with). They are fairly accommodating, and I get good prices on everything else (it's one of the cheaper marinas near me). I also have a go...

Re: Coupler Alignment - Vibration
To follow-up and close this out, the shaft was bent just outside of the hull. When turning the prop by hand, you could see the shaft was out of round at the hull. I think the marina bent the shaft with the lift, by having the rear strap too far back and on the shaft. Replaced the shaft, and seems to...

Re: Coupler Alignment - Vibration
Thanks, Jeff! Much appreciated. Will come back with updates. Currently in the water, so might not get to pulling the shaft for a little while. How risky is it to run it at lower RPM in the meantime? What am I risking in terms of transmission damage/wear?

Coupler Alignment - Vibration
My mechanic installed two running takeouts (318s with 1:1 transmissions) to replace the same engines/transmissions. He is having a ton of trouble getting the Port engine alignment right and there is significant vibration over 1600 rpms. He has tried adjusting the engine angle ad nauseam. The isolati...
