Re: Chrysler small block 416 stroker kit
...." The 318 is a poorly balanced engine " Millions of satisfied auto owners might not agree. Jeff Anything can be made better, some were made better. That being said,......... the only person who would not agree is that dude still driving around that stock Diplomat he bought off the sho...

Re: Newbie....Should have done this first
If you haven't yet, go check out the Marinette Facebook page also. There are a few boats for sale there, along with other interesting post. It seems there are always Marinettes for sale. One Saturday me and my wife were driving around, I told her (I want a 28 Marinette), we drove to all of the local...

Re: V6 Crusaders
Sounds awesome, 330HP, you'd be putting out the same HP as a single 440 Chrysler, with more maneuverability. Hmmmm.........165HP v6?????? what kind are they? The old I-6 (250ci) were 165HP, are you sure they are V6's?????, if so they should be 190 or 205HP. Not that it really matters, either way it ...

Re: Chrysler small block 416 stroker kit
Here's something to ponder for everyone. A lot of people would say put in a bigger engine and your going to get crappy fuel mileage. If you only put in the bigger engine, yes, you'll get crappier fuel mileage. A larger engine (especially a longer stroke) will give you torque, more torque (leverage) ...

Re: Chrysler small block 416 stroker kit
My nephew works at an engine shop, they have lots of cores, I can probably get one (or 2, let me know) pretty cheap. 400HP from a 318 is impressive, my only wonder would be how reliable it would be, one horsepower per cubic inch makes for a pretty reliable engine, too much more than that and you run...

Re: Chrysler small block 416 stroker kit
We need a good source for reverse rotation custom ground cams for this project. I don't know what the lift and duration is on a stock marine Chrysler but I would imagine it is not large enough to support 416 cubic inches. I myself am going to start looking for a 360 in the junkyard for a core (I'm k...

Chrysler small block 416 stroker kit
Eagle has stroker kits for our small block Chryslers, the largest being a 416, it has a 4 inch stroke, you have to be bored over .030, for a 4.070 bore. A 4 inch stroke would give our little Chryslers big block torque in a small block package. They have reasonable compression ratios too, so it would...

Re: LM 318 carburetors - Rochesters
The PO of my boat installed the Edelbrock carb, it is a very good carb. It must have been something someone had laying around though, because it is a manual choke model, and it's not hooked up.......yet. It starts fine, but some time in the future I need to figure out how to make the old heat riser ...

Re: Struck by lightning?
We are preparing for 3 days on the water this weekend. A few rounds of storms are expected all the way to Monday morning, with 5 inches of rain through the weekend. It's supposed to get pretty nasty tomorrow night, nothing severe, just a fare amount of lightning is what the local weatherman is sayin...

Re: Fuel for thought
Thank you for your thoughts, valid points. One question though, wouldn't a smaller steeper pitched prop do the same thing as a larger lower pitched prop, eliminating all the angle issues, as long as you don't go so far as to cause cavitation? Just a guess, but say a, 16X16cupped vs. a 20X11? The mor...
