Re: Dual pocket water pump plumbing.

That does help, the raw water intake was hooked to the front pocket when I got the boat, engine would never heat up but I had other things to worry about. Now I've got them routed properly per your directions and it is getting too hot, upwards of 180*-200*.... tstat is opening, I verified by pulling...

Dual pocket water pump plumbing.

Does anyone have or can someone take some pictures of how your dual pocket water pump hoses are attached from top and water pump side of the engine? I have a feeling mine may be plumbed incorrectly. Thanks in advance for any help, I am seeing conflicting diagrams on line.

Re: Electric fuel pump issue.

Or throw the electrical stuff away, buy a replacement mechanical pump. There are mechanical pumps out there that have the boss for the overflow/vent line to the carb, you just have to drill and tap and install a fitting.

Re: Fuel tank/pickup question

Thanks for verifying Bill. I've got the owner of my old 28 looking at the aluminum tank in his boat to see if he can get me some data, then I could order a tank I know will slide right into place.

Re: Fuel tank/pickup question

Also make sure all your lines from the tank are new and the correct size. It could be that you have a diameter hose that is to small to keep up with the fuel pump. Is your pump electric or mechanical? A fair amount of the line is still the original copper, there is a small amount of rubber line to ...

Re: Fuel tank/pickup question

Thanks for replies guys. Screen filter at mouth of carb is clean, just had it rebuilt and double checked the screen again.

Would a tank from a semi be coast guard legal? I wondered about one and if insurance could deny a claim if there were ever an issue...?

Fuel tank/pickup question

A few questions on fuel tank and pickup, first some background. I've been troubleshooting runability issues on my new to me 28 express with single 318. I've got it running reliably after fixing numerous issues, carb, timing, comdenser, wiring and a weak coil among some other things. Once I had it ru...
