Re: Brand new Big M owner here...questions about trailering...
I strapped mine down same as busia, a strap from each of the 4 corner cleats angled towards the center of trailer so rear straps go forward to trailer, front straps go back. I also left the winch strap tight, kept the boat nice and right.

Re: Brand new Big M owner here...questions about trailering...
I trailered around a 28 express for quite a few years, take it from me and install a bow eye, it takes maybe an afternoon to maybe 6-8 hours of work to install and you will not regret it. Time to install depends on how fussy you want to be on the looks of it

Re: Bow & Stern thrusters
That was a bit harsh, doncha think, for a strong cross wind can make fools out of any of us. (Ah-hem!) Jeff Sorry if i came across the wrong way. I just meant that patience goes a long way when docking. Wind and current can be tough, in those cases don't be afraid to get close to the dock and use y...

Re: Bow & Stern thrusters
Having put a few hundred hours on two different single screw 28' express and growing up maneuvering a 40' houseboat with a single inboard id say you guys with twins are either spoiled or need to work on your patience. Slow down, think, use reverse. When i hop behind the helm of a boat with twins its...

Re: Hard to start?
Remember these are carbeurated engines guys. Try starting a 1980s or 70s dodge truck when its 20 below out and THAT is a long crank time. 20- 30 seconds is normal as far as im concerned. I wouldnt be concerned with a minute after sitting for a week. 20 soconds cranking, give it a rest for 30 seconds...

Re: Help with info; data to choose a boat
The B Model 32 was interesting. I think the separate shower stall is the most important feature. But i don't think I could do without my Dinette. To the OP I think a twin engine boat is much easier to live with than a single. Not that a single would scare me. I do not think a kicker 15hp motor is g...

Re: looking for trailer/info for 1970 28'
I used to tow around my 28 express single engine all the time, had a 2016 venture tandem axle trailer, height was around 12' in the trailer. Model was the vatb8725 or 8750?? The only issue I had was the trailer could have been a little longer to get more boat up on the trailer and hence some more to...

Re: Fuel Filter inside our gas tanks
My 72 28 express had an issue with the pickup being corroded out..... I had to replace the stand pipe inside of the tank. The bottom 6" of the stand pipe looked like Swiss cheese and crumbled when I touched it. I reduced the problem to the tank by running the boat off of an outboard fuel tank f...
