Re: Question to owners about your 32' FB Sedan

Not to knock Marinette's best selling model, the 32' FB, if you haven't made a decision yet, don't rule out a 37' FB. There aren't as many of them out there, as most of them you will see in the 37', 39' and 41' are double cabin, but there were a few 37 and 39 open cockpits (mine is a 37' FB). The be...

Re: Stress cracks ???

That sounds like the most likely story, although I was thinking that it was left in the lake during the winter, the opposite of forgetting to pull the drain plugs while in drydock and water freezing inside the hull.

Re: Chrysler 360 will not start post degreasing...

Yes, that is the pick up coil, and yes, the 8 sided thing on the distributor shaft is the reluctor. This is what is referred to as a hall effect or inductive trigger switch. It produces a magnetic signal every time one of the 8 blades passes by. Steam cleaning the engine could very well cause a pick...

Wow Carl, that's ugly. Can't remember what and/or if there is a marine specific module (unlike the ballast and other explosion proof electrical devices).

Re: Alternator / Ignition / Ballast resistor questions from a dummy

Here's some input/experience from my boat. My alternators were updated to the one wire type by the previous owner ( my boat has Chryslers in her). Worked flawlessly for five years now. Ask any hot-rodder/old car buff, the one-wire is the only way to go. I'm guessing that since you are asking about b...

Re: Question: Oil Capacity in a Chrysler 360?

Not sure if they are different, but there are two different oil pans for the Mopars, one is stamped steel, like on a Dodge truck, the other, as on my M, are cast aluminum. Depending on the transmission/outdrive is what determined the oil pan.

Re: Extened Platform

Just to add to Jim's post, I believe a 28' and 32' share the same beam, where as the 37'-41' are wider by roughly two feet. And asking FastJeff, did you add extra support underneath for your extension? I would like to extend mine for my dink as well.

Re: Thermostat Housing

The image of the cast housing #3745360 is not the only type used. Mine, a 1975 model, uses housing Chrysler part #E7093M, which if you google images of this type, you will see that the two nipples to feed water to the exhaust manifolds, are brass 90*s that thread into the housing. Also, if you cross...

Re: Calcium Chloride, Will it eat my M?

Well, here's my thoughts...I have been using "Damp-rid" in my boat for 4 years now (actually 3) I use five of the small containers, strategically placed ( I have a 37' sedan), one in the head, one in the v-birth, two in the galley and one in the salon. during the weekend, while using the b...
