Marine Sealant

I am getting ready to install a new depth finder on the boat that uses a thru the hull transducer and was looking for some suggestions on the best sealant to use with our aluminum hulls. I would love to know what was used on the old one. I had a terrible time getting it out of the hole that thing wa...

Re: updating wiring

If you decide to upgrade to the 30 amp inlet the only potential issue I see is the wire that feeds the circuit breaker box. I can not tell from the pictures what size it is. The wire needs to be a 10 AWG. This should be stamped on the wire itself along the outer insulation. If there using a 20 amp in...

Re: auto pilot

i would never use it at cruising speed. i agree its dangerous. I just want to use it for trolling. Its nice to have when you help net a fish or set a rod so the boat stays straight and you dont tangle up your lines.

Re: Proper Carb Size for 318

There is all kind of articles online comparing holley vs. edelbrock. Im no expert but this is just what i ran into. The old original carter carb was not worth fixing. Most posts here led me to the 1409 so thats what i started with. I installed the carb and tuned it the best i could. The boat idled f...

Re: Proper Carb Size for 318

I just took the 1409 off my 318 after a couple years. The original Carter was leaking through the body like mentioned above. The low end adjustability of the edelbrock did not impress me at all. I do a lot of trolling and was never real happy with it. This year I put a Holley 650 single pumper on wi...
