Ask the previous owner what paint they used. Almost all boats need anti-fouling paint but less so in fresh water. Where are you boating? If you're lucky (and the PO can advise), you may just need light sanding and then overcoating with anti-fouling. Other nearby boaters or a marine store may be able...

consider this for making paint decisions: get a small quantity of some brands you'd think about using. Paint a board of piece of aluminum with the various products keyed so you'll remember which is which and drop them overboard for a month or so you'll be able to compare results. I did this too many...

I have been shopping for batteries and have considered lithium-ion but would like to get as much "bang for my buck" as I can. To power accessories including AC, fridge via an inverter, I don't think yhou need to go to the expense of (otherwise fine) LI batteries. Some good deep cycle batt...

TReated how?Any wood painted or stained and covered in poly will hold up with, perhaps, annual touch up. But teak (which still needs annual loving) is the best because it's an oily wood and fends off moisture. Marinettes got exterior teak touches.
