Re: Battery parasitic draw

Sounds familiar - was plagued with this for years and I do not recall how it was resolved. Always the stbd battery bank (2 batteries) which carries a greater load of things to power. One suspect was one of the monitoring devices (CO2/fuel?) and something else that always stayed on. Perhaps, there wa...

Re: salt water owners. longevity?

Captain, some years ago a frequent poster on this board who lived in MD, kept an M in FL and reported it did well in the salt environment. Here's my take on three things to look out for. Make sure you thoroughly wash down/hose off everything topside after taking her out and often as you can between ...

Re: Head shower pan

can you snake a thin wire thru the drain?
UPDATE, referring to Carl's post just below where he gets specific. In my former '32, the sump was located just inside the entrance to the fwd v-berth, under the carpet. Very easy access.

Re: Gaskets for San Juan Bellingham strainer

I don't know what/where this o-ring will be - i thought it was this big gasket indicated by the red arrow. Just to be sure -- it's a gasket (flat seal), not o-ring (tubular) that you are going to replace. And you have correctly indicated the place by the red arrow. An o-ring might work but the flat...

Access to Sea Water Pump & Drive Belt problem

(am posting this on behalf of user Metalhead) I am having a tough time finding out how to remove the drive belt and the sea water pump from this engine. It seems the 2 bolts that might be the mounting bolt for the pump are located under a bracket that seem to support the pump. It appears there is a ...

HOW TO START A NEW TOPIC

Just got a private message, an inquiry from a new member covering two areas; a request for assistance in how to post a new topic and another paragraph describing a maintenance problem. I am posting it all here in case others may want to know how to make a fresh post. After you click on Board Index i...
