Re: What to look for on a inspection

Hull was surprisingly good shape. No pitting anywhere shafts were free of pitting. Zincs were all above average. Will get back to see her and bring a couple of batteries to test systems the best I can. As far as the heat exchanger goes I looked everywhere for signs of antifreeze bilge was dry and no...

Shifters

Checked out a 37DC today. Shifters felt a little "Grindy " especially port side going into reverse. No power and boat been on the hard for 4 years. Do you think oiling the cables will solve this?

So looked at the big M today. Brought the family aling and had a family members graduation to get back to so thorough inspection was not in the cards. This was more like a informal once over. My report. Hillsides nice and shiny great gloss. Cracking around aft corners in paint nothing terrible but t...

Re: What to look for on a inspection

Sounds great in my past life I was. Formula Yachts salesman so I do know a thing or too about boats. Just never been on a aluminum vessel or better yet owned one. Last boat was a Formula 34 PC. I love the fact that aluminum if cared for properly will long outlast me. And the fact these were built in...

Re: Am i crazy???? Double cabin VS Marque

This project will definitely end up in the loss catagory. The only reason I am interested in it is I can buy it and pay for repairs out of play money a little at a time. This keeps the wife happy as she manages the books here at my household. It will be a slow process. Secondly it's aluminum no disc...

Re: speed of a 37 with twin 440's

Hopefully going to do some more digging in tomorrow. Basically going to try and inspect blocks for cracks from freezing, water in oil etc. Then checking continuity of wiring etc. If motors cracked etc that's not of big as a concern as wiring. If wiring is shot I'm walking.

Re: speed of a 37 with twin 440's

Yea I live on Cumberland I am all to aware of the roof collapse issues. Luckily my marina was on top of it(literally) and swept their roofs so no issues. Only one in the lake now with no issues and of course my slip is empty so there you go. Thanks for the info on the surveyor and the boat is curren...
