Looking aft (from the lower helm--glad I was not 'up there') I could see a cascade of water flowing down off the bimini. Yet on she plowed, on plane, and handled it wel...

Re: Shaft size converting to diesel

I'd worry about an engine with so much torque going through a 1 1/4 inch drive shaft. But that's just me, the eternal worry wart.

Re: Engine dies when transmission engaged.

.."Could be something caught in prop"

That's my guess as well. Kinda cold to go over the side with a knife in your teeth (like a pirate) but that's what you need to do.

Re: Pumping out your holding tank

Yup--West Marine and others sell it. Messy, stinky job but....

If I still had my Marinette, I'd invest in a LectroSan toilet that incinerates the....you know. Not cheap, but you'd be so much better off in the long run.

Re: electronics upgrade

I used a transom mount on my 32 footer and was never sorry. Had to buy the Humminbird extension cable ($$$) to do it.

Not sure, but single lever control sure eliminates that "Oh sh*t, I grabbed the wrong lever!" nightmare.

(Ah-hem.)

Re: Manifold vacuum 15

Lacking a vacuum distributor advance, marine engines tend to have a much lower vacuum at idle.
