Re: Steering wheel

Flybridge wheel. (I removed and sold mine.) It was supposed to be a temporary deal, until I got another wheel, but I like it so... Been on two of my homemade boats so far.

Re: Swim Ladder Question

If you are poundagely challenged, as I am, there's no way you can climb a two step ladder! I too added a step to mine, and also my new-to-me 19 foot bow rider.

Why manufacturers do that mystifies me.

Re: 360s stalling

You might have a slow flooding issue. If so, the motors will idle okay for a period of time, but they are running too rich and that eventually catches up with them. The other possibility is the carbs are too lean--that too will cause this, but it usually makes them bog and backfire on throttle up. I...

An amendment to your equation: The paddling distance is directly related to the distance one's boat is from the dock when it dies.

Re: Fuel System Restoration: Tanks to Carbs...

Sheesh! That's too complicated for me--I'm a simple man.

I put about ten gallons in each tank and messed with the adjustments (angle and location on the rod) until they just said "E".

Re: First Post, First Boat, 32' Sedan

You'll always feel vibration in an inboard boat since the shock waves coming off the ends of the prop blades impact the bottom of the boat. That's the nice thing about outdrives--the shock waves are dissipated into the air.

Re: Fuel System Restoration: Tanks to Carbs...

When I changed the gages in mine, I deliberately set them up so there was at least 10 gallons of gas in the tanks on 'E'. I know; it's only a psychological thing, but it helps when the marina is a long way off.
