Re: Help needed explaining marine power 350s

Black, right? John Hall had a couple in his 32 footer and they ran strong. (Sounded just like Chryslers, by the way.)

Good engines.

Re: 318/392 Stroker Motors

My old 32 footer did 32 mph with stock 360s. (No flybridge or gen set and only two aboard.) It was stable at that speed, by the way. Felt my wallet beginning to disintegrate so I slowed right back down to cruise speed! I seem to recall John Hall saying his 32 footer (w/ 325 hp S B Chevies) approache...

Re: Old gas

I'd make sure the tanks were truly full and leave it that way. You have lots of stabilizer in there already.

Sorry to hear of your wife's injuries. Sounds horrible.

Re: Old gas

Note that most marinas' insurance companies forbid empty fuel tanks for safety reasons (a tank full of fumes is a bomb). Not sure where you're doing this, but it can be hazardous.

Be careful and good luck.

Re: Spark Plug Wires

The strongest DIS-advantage to the factory wiring mess is it's very easy to confuse the wires. The marina guys did that to me (during an insurance settlement deal) and it drove me nuts trying to cure a backfire under throttle. Changed all kind sort things before finding they had two plug wires rever...

Re: Spark Plug Wires

Looks good. Did you go under the manifolds or stuff the wires between the manifolds and valve covers?
