Re: MY 1966 26 ft 327 fireball

Bigger tabs are MUCH better. Smaller ones tend to drag more and kill speed. I have giant tabs on my tiny, 12 foot speed boat.

Re: engines seem locked up

All good ideas. I usually get them to rotate by using a pry bar on the flywheel teeth. You get more leverage that way.

Good luck! I have a feeling you'll be okay.

Impeller size for a 440 Chrysler

Anyone out there have the info needed for an impeller for a 330 hp 440 Chrysler?

Thanks,

Glad to hear that. I fought a starting issue on Mr. Port for 8 years and never cured it, so I appreciate your achievement.

Re: Can I make a rudder using Aluminum?

Hard to weld aluminum to the stainless round stock going up through the stuffing box (though Eutectic Corp actually came up with a way to do it). I'd think aluminum would be too weak in bending for the rudder unless it was really thick--like 3/8 inch. And the round stock woul have to be several inch...

Re: Marinette 39 rudders

For some dumb reason Marinette made the fool things out of mild steel (at least mine had them).

Rotting wood on cockpit decks, and steel rudders...what were they thinking when so many other parts were aluminum?
