My advise? Stick to what's working. Also, from my experience, a 4 blade prop creates a noticeably faster idle speed. (That made for some thrilling docking until I learned to shift in and out of neutral, regularly.) If that's not a concern, you MIGHT get better plane off with the 4 bladed, but be car...

Stuff happens. Just yesterday a carb I recently rebuilt (and was working fine) leaked like a sieve when I turned on the electric fuel pump. Why? Search me, but a few raps with a plastic hammer freed it up and it sealed again--until I got to the launch ramp. A few more knocks and it was working again...

PS: Damn clever, though. I use a shop vac to pull the oil out of the motor on my new boat. Oil stops at an old propane tank I got for nothing (of course. (Legendary cheapskate!)

Right on. When timing the beast, you need to rev the motor and see if the advance, advances properly. Too often it doesn't come all the way back, which tricks Mr. Mechanic into timing it wrong. Careful selecting the cap and rotor combination! There are two different styles and they do NOT interchange.
