Re: First Post, First Boat, 32' Sedan

You'll always feel vibration in an inboard boat since the shock waves coming off the ends of the prop blades impact the bottom of the boat. That's the nice thing about outdrives--the shock waves are dissipated into the air.

Re: Fuel System Restoration: Tanks to Carbs...

When I changed the gages in mine, I deliberately set them up so there was at least 10 gallons of gas in the tanks on 'E'. I know; it's only a psychological thing, but it helps when the marina is a long way off.

A 2001 aft cabin 44 footer!

Jeff (in my dreams. Actually, a 19 foot bow rider. Grandkids love tubing behind it.)

Re: Fastjeffs boat??

In 2015. A gentleman in Georgia bought it sight unseen--talk about faith! And be sure to shut the breaker OFF at the boat's switch panel--and even if your slip has a shut off there as well. (In the heat of the moment one can forget things, right?). You'd be surprised at the size of the arc plugging that cord back in will generate with the AC, refrigerator, battery charger...

Re: First Post, First Boat, 32' Sedan

Repacking the box is not a big deal, so don't let that alone scare you away./

I see lots of folks--and in the middle of the Chesapeake Bay--running there boats at that rpm, just below planning speed. I suppose they think they are saving gas, but the exact opposite is what's really happening.
