Re: Pulpit Restoration

Looking good, Carl. Getting near time to do some exploring up that way.

Re: Question to owners about your 32' FB Sedan

Below are some stats from our trip Summer of 2017. I am looking for our stats from this past Summer (2018) when we traveled 1600 miles on Lake Barkley, Kentucky Lake, Cumberland River, Tennessee River, and The TennTom. Stats as far as about 1.2 mpg were similar though I believe. We probably average...

Re: Stress cracks ???

Sounds like someone's boat left at his shop and being sold for storage fees. Might be a deal at the right price. Very well could be. I'd like to have the trailer. I expect mine--when I get it-- to be here at the ponderosa for awhile while I set it up. Being able to move it about during that time wo...

Re: Stress cracks ???

Thanks ddependo, that's the ad. It's a decent price until the welding part came up. No worries as I'm pretty stuck on a 32 FBS.

Re: Stress cracks ???

Thanks, that's the first I've heard of that in an aluminum boat. Maybe at one time it was strapped to the belly of the now defunct space shuttle. Reading that made me want to steer clear of it. I work with aluminum on a daily basis and know that it is a "softer" metal. I've heard of M's hi...

Stress cracks ???

While taking my daily jog through various classifieds, I came upon an ad for an M that stated " all stress cracks have been re-welded from front to rear". Are stress cracks a common occurrence on the M ?

Re: Question to owners about your 32' FB Sedan

Yes, the trawler I was considering had a full displacement hull which is why it only required 50 HP and topped at 10 knots and cruised at 7 knots. For my Loop trip, I plan on cruising near that speed for the most part but want the ability to kick it up a notch if necessary which is where the planing...

Re: Question to owners about your 32' FB Sedan

So it sounds like faster or slower 1 MPG is a good ball park guesstimation. The Willard trawler I was looking at was 30' with a 50 hp diesel and at cruise, 7 knots, burned 3/4 gallon an hour but topped at 10 knots which is about 11 1/2 miles per hour. A little slow to get out of the way if I needed ...

Re: Question to owners about your 32' FB Sedan

You are right. Maybe it will be a smaller qty. but all that should work itself out after I see what I have to work with.
