Thanks for the pointers. Think I'll end up using stainless wire brushes on a cordless drill. Would like to sandblast but not sure how big of a mess that would make and I'd need a gas powered air compressor. Might be doable as long as I could contain the mess as it's on in Jack stand at the marina so...

So bought the boat in October. It's currently dry docked outdoors at my old marina, moving in the spring. Moisture absorbers are only effective in air tight compartments. At 70F and 40% RH, air contains about 10 grams of water per cubic meter of air. I assume it's in a plastic container, sitting on a counter, not in contact with the hull. If so, it shouldn't be a problem. I used moisture absorbing stuff for years with no visible effect. There's another product - I apologize, I cannot recall the name -- that was good at reducing mold. It release...

So I put a bunch of calcium chloride “B-dri” in my cabin to help keep moisture down but then started thinking I’ve seen chlorine airborne in a pool room eat out copper heat exchangers in pool heaters... any chance of calcium chloride affecting anything on the M?? Thanks!! I did have the engines surveyed and the said the leak was coming from the covers so I’ll try to tighten first

360 valve cover gasket replacement

Just got 32’ Fisherman and know the valve covers are leaking oil. Can the covers be removed and gaskets replaced without removing exhaust manifolds? It looks tight...

Also do you suggest cork or rubber and where would you get them from?
