Re: Here We Go Again

Does the starter always work when you jump the solenoid? I would imagine you jiggled the shifter to make sure the neutral safety was engaged. Quite often on mine I have to do the jiggle to get it to crank. Seeing that you have changed solenoids, my guess is it is still in the neutral safety circuit....

Re: Metals Mistakes

Calivanos, I am interested in how the boat performs with the V-6's. Trying to get an idea on what I might do when a repower is needed.

Re: V-6 Repower

From what I have seen a few came with V6 motors, but it looks like they were 3.8l's at 165 hp, not the 215 hp 4.3l. Looking at zf hurth trannys, it appears that the 1:1 ratio on most allow for full power in forward or reverse, allowing them to be used on either side, but I could be wrong. I missed o...

V-6 Repower

I have seen the discussions on here on the pro's and con's of rebuilding, new long block, complete repower with a Crusader and such. My question is, has anybody repowered with a 4.3l V6? I am looking into this for a couple of reasons. First, is that a 4 barrel carbed 4.3l makes in the neighborhood o...

Re: Introduction

We have had it in legit 5-7 ft waves, which are quite a bit different than that same size wave on the ocean, very tight together and steep. Obviously had to slow way down, 12-14 m.p.h., with the props coming out (cavitating) of the water quite often. Ended up beating a 32 ft Bayliner by an hour on t...

Introduction

Hello all. I finally got an account here after lurking for awhile. I bought a 1975 28 ft express with twin 318's this past summer off a family member. I know all of the owners (4) of this boat dating back to 1981. That owner bought it from a gentleman that bought it new. It has stayed in an area of ...
