Re: In a Jamb or Just a Nut

Marysville Marine had a write up on it in there catalog. They said to use the big nut first, but said either way you do it, is fine.

Re: Kicker motor

You would need a 20-25 hp kicker to be able to move the boat 6-8 mph. It would use less fuel than the v8's, but that little motor would be screaming away and probably get annoying after a little bit.

Re: Reverse rotation?

Like other have said, there are many ways that one can check what the rotation is, with the easiest being, just cranking it over. Rockxx, rh rotation is not standard, it is opposite rotation.

You would also have to factor in the tranny if you are planning on switching from counter rotation to standard rotation.

Re: One engine cruising (dragging prop)

It is best to put it in gear. If not, the tranny turns the whole time and there is no water going through the cooler.

Re: Broken throttle cable connection

Any of the ones I have seen have been made out of brass. Where ever you order the cables from should be able to order the cable end.

Re: Twin Screw Engine Rotation...

It is also possible that someone could have two of the same direction engines and full reversing transmissions, i.e. zf hurth transmissions. Meaning that the transmissions can take full power all day long in either direction. I do not know if there is a velvet drive that does that.

Re: Marelon Seacocks and Below the Waterline Through Hulls

My only question about Marelon, Is it impact resistant? Can it handle a direct hit from say a log while on plane? That is the only thing that I have worried about.
