Trim Tabs
Not wanting to be left out with everything else that has failed my trim tabs have now fallen in line, starboard to be exact. The fact there original to the boat makes me want to gut out everything, except the tabs themselves and replace with new. The pump runs but seems to drag and I'm sure the actu...

Re: Fuel prime
Don't know but can tell you mine have been on for several years. After the boat has sat for extended periods I squeeze the bulbs until I can see pressure on the gauges and it fires right off. One thing I will say is crank it over several times before priming to get oil to the top of the engines, avo...

Re: Fuel prime
Put a primer bulb between the tank and pump. It will also give your starter motors some relief.

Re: Fuel prime
Disconnect the fuel lines from the main tank and try running from a remote tank, if it runs replace your anti siphon valves. You sure your pumps are good after sitting for twelve years?

Re: Stalling Problems and this Forum
Will look into the Holley's as time goes along, the ones I purchased were cheapo's. Since beaning installed have logged about ten hours without a single stall, smooth 600 rpm idle, my wife even commented on how well it was running.

Stalling Problems and this Forum
After reading Leviathon's post about stalling problems it prompted me to dive back into my own stalling problem's. After rebuilding the engines, transmissions, new ignition system's, carbs-Edelbrock 1409's, everything, still was experiencing stalling problems. After reading Bills post about flooding...

Re: Prop cupping
Contact Bblades, 920-295-4435, have used them for years on my hot rod boat. There's a little art and voodoo that goes into prop tuning, much like welding "anyone" can do it but few have the true talent.

Hydraulic Steering
Finally completed my hydraulic steering project, what a difference, night and day! Wasn't all that hard just a lot of grunt work, what I did do differently was use standard hydraulic hose rather than the SeaStars hose, easy conversion using ORB to JIC fittings. Also used 5606h fluid rather than the ...

Re: Seacoat Sea-speed bottom paint
Used a Teflon bottom paint on a hot rod boat years ago and yes there was a noticeable increase in speed. Don't know how much more speed you would see on a big heavy cruiser, although anything you could do to lessen the resistance couldn't hurt. Made the water bead as if it were waxed.

Re: shaft alignment
Where did you get your struts? I got mine directly from Marinette, they bolted right into place. Contacted one place that told me they could make them but to try to get them directly from Marinette just for the alignment factor. The father said they had the original jigs, anyone spoke with them late...
