Re: Waste tank/s setup question

http://www.toddusa.com/water-holding-tanks.aspx Above is a source for typical legal waste tanks. The Todd fitting kits only include the hose barbs that attach to the tank. Oder free hoses are very expensive. You must measure carefully. Mount the tank on a plywood shelf under the v-berth. A hose from...

Re: Sunken 32`

Take the interior wood and paneling out fast and dry it out . You will probably need to pull and replace a lot of wet fiberglass insulation, I had to recondition my flybridge electrics. It all comes out in one lump. I mounted it in a plywood cutout so I could work on it on the bench. Good thing abou...

Re: Auto pilot

This is the one I am interested in. http://cptautopilot.com/ Looks like an easy install. I'm just waiting for someone on this site to try it first.

Re: Hull Preparation & Painting

I used Blue Water Shelter Island Plus on the bottom of my 32'. It is ablative and went on smooth. I lightly sanded with a small orbital sander. Whenever I broke through to bare aluminum I immediately sprayed with a can of acid etch primer. I had a real rough walk around deck area on the topside. Pai...

Auto Pilot systems

I am looking for some information on auto pilots for a 1988 32' FSB. I found two wheel auto pilots. CPT auto pilot and Raymarine EV-100 wheel evolution autopilot. The wheel type would attach easily to the indoor helm. The Raymarine also has a hydraulic pump model. The is very little information on t...

Mice moved in

A few Mice moved into my boat for the winter. It was a short stay. I had two ropes from the deck hooked to the trailer ratchet strap. That was probably the route in. They don't climb up the hull but any help you give them such as with ladders, hanging ropes can result in huge nests come spring. I la...

Re: Waste Tank - 1989 32 Sedan Flybridge

I replaced the aluminum factory tank under the v-berth with a 20 gallon plastic tank. The metal tank had rotted out. On mine the macerator pump empties a 9 gallon waste tank under the toilet into the top of the 20 gallon tank under the v-berth. Waste is pumped out from the bottom through the deck fi...

Re: Replacing aft deck

When I replaced my deck I decided not contort my old body to try and screw or unscrew those out of reach screws under the deck. I cut out the old deck with power saw from the top down, I made a 1/4" template for one side of the cockpit. Flip it and you have the other side. I saw that anything b...

Carbon fiber effect

I just watched a wheeler-dealer episode about restoring a land rover. They took out dashboard panels which we painted a horrible bright blue by a prior owner. They took them to one of those little english specialty shops that sanded them and coated the parts with a film that gave the parts a perfect...

Re: Flying Bridge Restoration

My 1988 32' flybridge sat out in the weather for years. The project boat was low hours and everything inside was like new. The flybridge electronics and gauges had to be gone through. I made a plywood template of the flybridge cutouts and moved into the shop. The wires and guages came out easily and...
