Re: Seacock Replacement
Boat US strongly recommends using marelon. At the same time, I recall my nearly 20 yr old bronze seacocks were in good shape (although I did not undertake anything like a scrape test to check - only eyeballing). I would think you could buy any reasonable size to match the hose you are using, one tha...

Re: Door needed
One of the best door and window parts and repair houses is Blaine. Look them up on the internet. I was lucky becauser one of their two locations is virtually in my back yard. While you may not be near their retail outlet, you may find their phone service satisfactory.

If your coverup method works, it's a first and an important note for folks whose original factory overcoat is flaking off. Hope for their sake and yours it's a successful method

Re: CAPAC and Hull Potential question
What Dave said. If you are adding zinc and the Capac reading doesn't change, suspect the Capac (you can also contact them and discuss with a tech person). Jeff built a meter himself and if you offer him donuts here, he might be willing to tell you how he did it. I used it successfully many years ago...

Re: Spray foam insulation
a) some spray foams will absorb and hold moisture so if you do it, make sure you use a foam that is dense enough to repel water - check the Loctite and Great Foam customer support people. b) there 's a highly regarded and relatively inexpensive product called Reflectix that other Masrinette owners h...

Re: 1960 29' Family Cruiser
If the corrosion meter you refer to is the CAPAC monitor, then the info you got was very incorrect (mistrust that source going forward). It is NOT a low voltage indicator. It is a monitor to give you a reading on the galvanic potential. How you act on the info is what reduces corrosion. In the same ...

Trilux IS ablative. As for the 2 coat job, don't know what you mean by professional other than paying someone else to do it. I'm assuming the underlying coats are in good shape. So, a properly supervised high school kid could do the job if you are not able to get under the boat and start rolling (an...

Re: spark plugs
WHat you are thinking about sounds interesting. But I wonder why Chrysler didn't recommend that practice in their engine manuals.
