method for cutting new plywood deck?

For those who have replaced the cockpit deck with new marine plywood - what methods did you use to cut the stock plywood pieces? I would guess make a template from the old deck and use a jigsaw. Also - I am mostly finding marine plywood that is only 4x8 but the deck of the boat is about 10 feet long...

Re: what to do when railing screws are stripped out

Not sure if this happens for anyone else, but the site starts out perfect and then the text increases in size as you scroll down and it eventually gets unreadable. I can probably only read the first 5 articles or so. All info on ...

Re: my $700 28 express!

Thanks...you have probably heard this from others, but bottom paint on a Marinette is a topic to be carefully researched before starting. Welcome to the forum! Glad to have you here.

What brand of stain and varnish are you using for the trim pieces? Looks nice in the pictures.

GB - any idea on the brand of that bilge hose? The site doesn't seem to mention that. Excellent reference page though.

Best material for bilge pump hose?

All of the bilge pump, sink drain, and scupper drain hoses on my boat are in need of replacement this spring. Anyone have a material that they like better than the typical corrugated plastic hose? All of my current bilge pump hoses are of this material and I found cracks in several places. I feel li...

Forum and Facebook

I am essentially stating the obvious here but still wanted to share this. The forum is somewhat quiet right now as we go through the holiday season and focus on our non-boat responsibilities. The facebook page seems fairly active. As someone who checks both places daily, I would like to point out th...

Re: Aft deck replacement questions

For a waterproof material, people have successfully attached from both top and bottom. Mostly a cosmetic choice. When using plywood, it seems the best option is to screw in from the bottom to prevent moisture from wicking down the screw threads and rotting the wood over time. I too am looking to rep...
