Re: Swim Ladder Question
Threw my ladder away, along with the air conditioner. Never going to need them! But what you have looks like a repair or modification. I would place a longer sleeve over or inside the bottom. A sleeve could go all the way across the bottom.

Re: 360s stalling
When it quits, check if you have ignition. Just pull the coil wire from the distributor and place it close to something grounded on the block. (Do you want to just hold it? That will also show you if you have a spark.) Crank it over and watch for a spark. If you have a spark, check for fuel. Pull th...

Re: Engine access from under the cabin step true or false
Don't run the engine without cooling water. What I do is take the hose off the sea strainer and put a longer hose from the strainer into a 5gal bucket. Then run a garden hose into the bucket. When the bucket is full of water you can start the engine and just watch that the bucket doesn't go dry.-- (...

Sounds like you have the start and run wires reversed.

How to post pictures
To answer on how to post pictures, I will start a new thread so we keep one topic per thread. It has been covered here many times, so if you search up there in search you will find lots to read. The big problem is the size limit here, so I go to shrinkpictures.com and follow the directions. Save the...

Re: engines seem locked up
Bearings won't rust to the crankshaft as they are not iron to iron. Worst are cast iron rings to a cast iron block. Hopefully you have chrome rings. Your receipts might show part numbers for the rings. Till then, put on old clothes, use lots of oil and hope for the best. Change the engine oil often....

Re: engines seem locked up
If you are not a mechanic now, you will be by the time you are done. Simple problem solved with a lot of time and hard work, hopefully not a lot of money. First, have good tools, don't waste your time and money on junk. (don't waste it on Snap-on either). I would remove all the fan belts -save them-...

They are SACRAFICIAL anodes. They are meant to dissolve. Go to BoatZincs.com to find out what kind and how many you need. Or call them up, they are helpful. Buy your anodes here too, they have the best prices. Good luck with your boat--

Re: Can I make a rudder using Aluminum?
I have an older boat ( late 70's ) and it has all stainless shafts and I think rudders. In theory you could make new rudders out of aluminum or wood or titanium or whatever. Stainless is much easier to weld, stronger, less likely to corrode, and cheaper than aluminum. Also you say aluminum, but what...

Re: 37 Sedan- Considering LARGER rudders, thoughts?
The balanced rudder takes most of the work out of steering. If it was not balanced (like some early airplanes were built) you have to do all the work, and the rudder would want to go back to center. What you want to do is keep the ratio of the area's the same. So much in front of the centerline to s...
