Re: 1988 lm318 carburetor

The stb engine is now running right. The primary carb system's accelerator pump and the power piston were gummed up. We sprayed some seafoam inside and freed them up. The engine started easier. When the secondary throttle opened the engine back fired and we had to back off. We were concentrating our...

Re: 1988 lm318 carburetor

I am in Escanaba. The carburator guy is a few blocks from the fairgrounds. I dont have any paperwork so I would need to look for his house. By the way you said gas leaks out the "rod". That is a common wear point. One of my books says to install bronze shaft bushings. This make a more elab...

Re: 1988 lm318 carburetor

I bought 3 books on rochester carburators prepping to rebuild my two. My problem was crud from old gas. Once I cleaned the fuel system up I began my carburator project. The rochester has a spring loaded filter screen screwed into the inlet. Mine were full of crud and letting unfiltered gas and dirt ...

Re: Nautolex - Original White w/Charcoal Stripes

I bought a roll of that original pattern for my 28'. Then I decided it was more work than I wanted to do and cut new 5/8" plywood and had it sprayed with grey bedliner. One of the best things I did and didn't need to buy marine grade plywood.

Stray DC current

I was testing the voltage at the distribution panels for the lower helm by switching the breakers on and off. The shower pump terminal still read .13 volt with the breaker switch off. The stereo terminal read .47 volt with the switch off. What's going on? After 29 years are the old airpax breakers s...

Re: Tachometer Replacement

The original tachs can be adjusted with a tiny screw driver. I had to used an external tach that only went to 2000 rpm to set them up.

Re: Waste tank/s setup question

The marina I sail from has great shower and toilet facilites. There is also a modern porta potty dockside. If you spend a lot of time way out you may want fo figure out more holding tank. I bought a camping toilet that uses plastic bags which I use at the storage unit and will carry for longer trips...
