Re: Pertronix Distributor Test

I ended up going with the Mallory electronic distributors. So far so good. Will report corrosion when I winterize. No mechanical advance... seems like the way to go.

A video is worth a million words..our youtube channel

Hey guys as you know a video is worth a million words. I made us a youtube channel several months ago. My first attempt at video load was not great because my camera would only load 1 minute videos. It would be great if you guys would load some videos for us to learn from or watch. This would be esp...

Re: Burning smell

I'm betting on the Chinese alternator. One of mine lasted about 30 hours engine time. A little my fault, because I run my deep cycle battery down jamming tunes all the time. Need a larger battery bank and or a higher amp alternator. The alternator overheats if it has to charge a dead battery all the...

Re: Salon Flooring

I personally think a wood floor would not look good. Lots of beautiful wood in our boats already. I am currently considering cork flooring. It's light, sound dampening, , nonslip, rugged, warm and soft on the feet. I need to do a little research on the subject, but I think it would work great.

Re: Engine oil

Great question... Always a hot topic! Quote by the famous fast Jeff " For two reasons--additives and age--I recommend Shell Rotella 10W40 oil. (Just bought some yesterday from Wal Mart. It's on sale for 12 bucks a gallon, by the way.) This oil has ZDDP-type additives that protect your cam and l...

Re: Most efficient cruising rpm?

What about trim? Trimming the nose down will produce drag with the trim tabs. Boat is most efficient with no trim. Thinking you could get a 1/4 mile better with no trim. Just an educated guess looking at other forums. You guys with the fancy fuel meters chime in and do a test for us.
