Re: 1st Post from a New Member
Love the fuel mileage on my single 318. It's not very fast but it's nice to only have to maintain one engine. One of my future projects are a set of trim tabs. Singles are easy to control in calm conditions, after you know what to expect (practice somewhere away from anyone or anything), they turn t...

Re: Vdrive/Transmission Alignment
Your flange has a 3 thousandths tolerance. When I did mine, I slid the shaft back, removed the isolator, slid the shaft back forward and measured between the couplers. You can use nylon washers to isolate your bolts, or nuts depending on witch way you put your bolts in. Beware of metal to metal cont...

Re: 1975 28' Express
Stern thruster is one of my future projects. We had high wind a couple weeks ago, I missed the trailer and barely cleared the dock when backing off, while turning to port in reverse. Here is all the onlookers at the ramp side restaurant        , like to see th...

Maybe a dumb question?
I've noticed a lot of people say their BigM's like to ride bow high. The bow on our boats sit deep compared to the stern, (especially on a singe 28), bringing the bow high when trying to plan. Some of us don't have the luxury of having trim tabs (or affording them). My question is has anyone ever be...

Re: DC Bonding
I have always been told to have your 12V grounds on the engine block. On my M, the grounds are on the floor support next to the engine, all in one place, except for the fuel sending unit ground. I would move your grounds off the hull and put them where the factory grounds were installed. I haven't g...

Re: What type of screws and bolts to use?
Depending on the location of your stripped screw you can buck it. Use a larger hammer on the backside and pound on the outside with the ball side of a ball peen hammer, this should effectively shrink your hole for the standard size screw, as long as you can get to the back side with your larger hamm...

Thanks
Thanks, to all involved in keeping the forum going. I was just going through all the new processes, clicking different buttons an stuff. It's a little different, but we'll get used to it. I'm happy we still have a place to go to talk about our boats and projects. I've noticed also there is more acti...
