Wow - very cool website. Thanks for sharing. Question does not belong here, but you say tranny fluid was low and that causes them to spin in neutral?? Is that true? Mine spin as well - will check fluid.

Re: Engines ready to install, Finally!
Chevy's are going in in about 8 weeks. Sold 360's to another Marinette owner. Yes, I like Chryslers, just like Chevy's a little more, and more parts availability. I will change my profile once they are installed and running! Why change out engines? My last trip 15 miles each way took 2 gallons of oi...

Re: Engines ready to install, Finally!
While they are out: Plumbing for head, blower motors, all wiring and battery cables, 120v breaker box, all new motor mounts, new prop shafts, props, bearings, rudders, battery boxes, all new exhaust hoses, fresh water strainers, water separators, fuel line - should I continue? Oh, and the cost to re...

I tear them down, machine shop does all of the work, then I put them back together and hope for the best! I am from a generation that rebuilt the engines in the cars we drove several times over! Small Block Chevy's are pretty simple

Re: Cutlass Bearing Size
It's a hell of a job. In the middle of it right now. Beware of set screws at the prop shaft coupler that like to break off, as well as the ones that are in the strut. Not sure you can get to it without pulling rudders as well. Also boat needs to be positioned so you can get shafts all the way out wi...

Re: Proper Venting
Thanks - that helps. I will be running twin small block crusaders now set up with a PCV that goes to the base of the carb and the other VC is just capped off. That is the way it was set up before I rebuilt, so I guess I will go with it. (Rochester Carbs)

Proper Venting
Out of curiosity - what is proper venting? PCV to Carb out of 1 VC, then just a breather on the other? Does it matter what side?
