Re: 32 Sedan Adding Air Conditioning

I do not know where the exhaust exits for the generator! At the transom it has 2 for the engines, and 1 in the center? The one in the center looks small, maybe bilge pump? Where did your Onan exhaust Exit? The one at the center is probably - or was designed for - the genset exhaust. That's where it...

Re: 32 Sedan Adding Air Conditioning

Capn Gary, Thanks for the help, as you described with the placement of the Air Conditioning is how i plan to set mine up. The only other thing i considered was, IF there was enough room, maybe mount the ac unit in the section of the dinette closest to the windows, the long bench part. I figure sacri...

Re: 32 Sedan Adding Air Conditioning

Thanks guys, I appreciate the information. I am sure once I spend more time with the boat I will get a better handle on where to place the vents, and how much amperage I typically draw. I am going to put my thru hull in for the ac before the boat launches in the spring. Fingers crossed for an early ...

Re: 32 Sedan Adding Air Conditioning

I was planning on installing my unit in the dinette. Either in the section closest to the stern, or the closest to the window. whichever would fit more practically. Hate to give up too much storage, but i think its a worthy trade. Good tip on the vents, I get concerned with the salon. Thats a lot of...

Re: 32 Sedan Adding Air Conditioning

Thanks Guys, Joe I am surprised to hear that your factory ac boat only had a single 30 amp. Knowing this I might have to consider leaving it at a single 30 amp service. Now can I ask where are your ac discharge vents located? I am thinking 1 in the salon, 1 in the galley, and 1 in the v berth. I am ...

Re: 32 Sedan Adding Air Conditioning

Just curious, do you have amp gauges in your boat? Now i have only seen my boat twice (bought it out of state end of season), but i believe i only have a voltage gauge. Adding amp gauges would help keep and eye on that. But you are correct, I am sure i could manage on one cord. I plan on putting my ...

32 Sedan Adding Air Conditioning

New to the forum, been reading mostly, also on the facebook marinette page. Here is my situation, I have a 1988 32 Sedan, basically a bare options boat. No A/C, no generator, No inverter, etc. I will be adding a 16K btu marine air conditioning system this upcoming season. Currently the boat has a si...

Re: 32' SFB

That 1988 Express does look really nice! I know when I was looking I had my heart set on a Sedan. Something to be said about closing the door and walking away without all the canvas.
