Re: A little crazy?
Thanks Tracy! I hope to get it propped correctly this year if they are available or possibly go with either a bravo 2 or 3 outdrive. The used market for bravo outdrives is still quite high for my taste, and I don't have $20k to drop on a pair of new ones. I will try to get a few more pics up of her ...

Re: Oil filler gasket- 318/360
Are the grommets are going to seal in place of the oil fill half turn? They will probably have to be quite thick. Should work if they are

Re: Raw water pump replacement.
If my memory is correct, the pump will unbolt from the mounting bracket. Doesn't matter when you remove hoses, before or after, whichever is easier. I believe the part number was a 10615K, sherwood impeller, but I could be wrong on that, and everything else.

Both have good advice. It also helps to take a sharpie and mark "top" on top of the pump before removal. It saves a lot of headaches down the road.

Re: Uneven exhaust water flow
Bill, Are you in freshwater or salt? Do you have raw water cooling or fresh/closed cooling? Can you hold your hands on the manifolds and elbows of both engines when the engines are up to temp while idling? When is the last time the impellers were changed? It is always a good idea when changing impel...

Re: Rudder repacking
Unless you have the dripless kind, a proper packing will let water in bilge while underway, the water lubricates the packing. While at the dock, you should have a drip every 5 to 10 seconds. It is one of the drawbacks, you always have water in the bilge.

Re: Possibly The Most Overlooked Preventive Maintenance!!!
Definitely ranks up there. There are so many different brands of fuel caps, one should find a spare that fits and keep it on board in case it falls overboard, which is known to happen. The other big preventative maintenance item is raw water impellers. A captain should change them out every couple y...

Thanks Joe, that is what I was shooting for, To make it look factory. Although it would have saved me a whole bunch of labor and engineering if they would have just done it in the first place.

Re: A little crazy?
Thanks Jeff, I still have a lot of improvements to go. But the wallet is quite empty at the moment, so I will slowly pick at it. I was hoping to get more done this past summer, safety and mechanical systems were first and foremost, cosmetics took a back seat. I have some re configuring of battery, t...
