That stuff sounds good enough for me to try it on my kayak. (I emailed them.)
Not sure about their claim for using on bare aluminum without etching first. That surface layer of aluminum oxide that forms immediately after paint removal is very slippery.

PS: Just recently I watched an old Carver struggling like mad to get on plane as it crawled across the Chesapeake Bay. By comparison, my old 32 footer jumped on plane at half throttle. Hell of a boat!

Watch out! Something like that cost me a good motor (and $4,000). It's imperative that you remove (from the motor) and test your high temperature switches (one wire) every year or so, for if they fail.... All you need is a bucket of boiling water and a voltmeter; the circuit closes at ??? degrees. J...

The advance mechanism under the plate (where the hall effect sensor is attached) tends to hang up and not return all the way at idle speeds. When that happens, and you time the motor, it ends up a bit retarded. To avoid that, I "exercise" the mechanism by flipping it to full advance, then ...

Check the advancement set up in the distributor. They are notorious for sticking and messing up the timing of the engine.
No valve adjustment on 318s and 360s.

I stupidly didn't know they were different and ran mine assbackwards for years without a problem (and it was a higher then normal amperage one as well).
