Will be a daunting task, but more than worthwhile!!! Source on "how to": Sailrite.com 1. -https://www.sailrite.com/How-to-Make-a-Powerboat-Bimini-DVD 2. On the main page, scroll down to and click on "Learn" - TONS of videos which can be parsed into various videos on how to make a...

Re: 37’ Double Cabin

Knotty, This site is a wealth of information on a myriad number of subjects, some general, others specific to a certain type of issue (boat's of a certain size, systems [motors, water, interiors, etc] that are common across the varying Marinette boats. You may find some of the answers you seek by us...

Re: 454 Crusader - milky oil

Rodney, Yes, we did. While last year's winter wasn't extremely cold for the area, there were a couple of days when the temps dipped down into the 20's overnight. Seems to me this didn't occur until January. And, while our boat's, having a ton of glass windows, will warm up reasonably fast in sunligh...

Re: 454 Crusader - milky oil

Thanks, Jeff!!
Will drain bad crud from crankcase, change out filter, fill with new oil and run 5 mins (just to distribute / coat all internal parts w/o (hopefully( introducing water in oil. Then troubleshoot, repair, and re-winterize engine fully.

454 Crusader - milky oil

Folks (especially gear heads...) I've run into what could turn out to be a very ugly situation involving the marina where we put Sunset Seeker Too (SS2) on the hard last fall. First, some background... SS2 Apecs: * 41' 1988 Marquis with hardtop * 454 Crusaders, raw water cooling - bought the boat fr...

Re: Fuel filler hose removal

Bill, Maybe it's me (overly cautious) but I'd shy away from applying any heat source on or near the hose... Alternatively, you could try running a utility knife a few inches down the length of the hose, starting as close to the fill fitting as possible. Start with moderate pressure on the blade (be s...

Re: Electric feed to 41' boat - major issue

ISSUE SOLVED! sheepish admission by orig poster... In discussing issue with electrician friend, there was a "eureka " enlightened moment.. - wanting to improve / enhance the electrical supply situation at the dock (which we own, we rent the 50' wide space that is where our boat's lo...

Re: Electric feed to 41' boat - major issue

Karl, To your questions: There are separate 30a breakers for the 2 shore power feeds going to the boat: -> 2 each on the utility pole where the electric meter is located -> 2 each on the dock's power distribution mount (ie - the electric feeds run from the utility (meter) pole underground a short di...

Electric feed to 41' boat - major issue

Does anyone have a schematic for an '88 Marquis? Have run into issue of supposedly having the standard 2 input 30A circuits (with separate feeds from Shore Power 30A feeds). However, in checking, there's only 1 feed in use - disconnected each feed SP cable as it plugs into boat: Feed 1 - ALL AC appl...

Re: Could we collect prop, shafts and other parts specs and info here ??

Jim,
We could use the input of the admins / webmaster before undertaking a project of this size. I'm guessing you have a lot of data to be digitized plus what's not covered by what you. No small feat but doable over time (great winter project!)
