Disconnect the fuel lines from the main tank and try running from a remote tank, if it runs replace your anti siphon valves. You sure your pumps are good after sitting for twelve years?

Will look into the Holley's as time goes along, the ones I purchased were cheapo's. Since beaning installed have logged about ten hours without a single stall, smooth 600 rpm idle, my wife even commented on how well it was running.

Contact Bblades, 920-295-4435, have used them for years on my hot rod boat. There's a little art and voodoo that goes into prop tuning, much like welding "anyone" can do it but few have the true talent.

Finally completed my hydraulic steering project, what a difference, night and day! Used a Teflon bottom paint on a hot rod boat years ago and yes there was a noticeable increase in speed. Don't know how much more speed you would see on a big heavy cruiser, although anything you could do to lessen the resistance couldn't hurt. Made the water bead as if it were waxed.

Where did you get your struts? I got mine directly from Marinette, they bolted right into place. Contacted one place that told me they could make them but to try to get them directly from Marinette just for the alignment factor. The father said they had the original jigs, anyone spoke with them late...

If you already have them off take one or both to a fabrication shop and tell them you need copy's, couldn't be much.
