Re: Chris craft 350q engine swap?
Jeff, that is exactly what I'll probably do, sell them whole or part out and keep a block and set of heads and build one up from there. Hopefully I can sell complete, and make some cash. My boat and trailer were paid for by doing this kind of odd stuff on the side, mostly parting out snowmobiles and...

Re: Chris craft 350q engine swap?
Thanks again for the reply. Not to question you, but to help me understand, if block and heads are standard sbc then why can't I use a different intake paired with a distributor to match the new intake? I'm going to look at these in the next few days so I'm just trying to gather all the info I can f...

Re: Chris craft 350q engine swap?
Thanks for the reply Eric. I don't really "need" an engine, mine runs great, but this guy is asking 300 for the pair, I would need to remove them but I've done that before, should be no sweat. My thought was to scoop them up, keep one engine and accessories and part or sell the other, then...

Chris craft 350q engine swap?
I found a pair of 350q engines for sale locally for a steal of a deal. They have v drives which I would not use but I'm wondering if one could be mated to my velvet drive trans? The 350q is set up so the trans attaches to the front of the engine for those not familiar. I am looking at swapping one o...

Re: what to do when railing screws are stripped out
What is everyone using underneath the railings Or other items mounted to your decks? Replace the old rubber with some type of new rubber insulator or just some 4200 or 5200 sealant? I will be pulling railings to paint as well as mounting some new lights at some point in time....

Mine is re-listed if there is any interest. I don't really want to sell but we don't use it as much as I would like.

Re: Run Dry blue impellers
Well, took the pumps out this winter and installed the Run-Dry's. We'll see how long they last. The rubber ones dry up & get brittle in a couple years, these should outlast them based on seeing how long the blue synthetic coolant hoses work. In my opinion the impeller is an annual maintenance i...

Re: Options for changing out my fuel tanks.
just be careful cutting the tanks. If you mean fire danger there is little to none, diesel is surprisingly hard to light on fire as are the fumes. It usually won't even start on fire when exposed to the flame of a propane torch. If you were using MAP gas or cutting torches, then diesel will burn, t...

Re: Options for changing out my fuel tanks.
If you don't have to put the same tanks back in the same spots how about emptying the tanks as much as possible and then getting busy with a sawzall on those old tanks? Plenty of work but it might beat the alternative of pulling apart the back of the boat....

Re: Bow Hatch
I keep my bow hatch cracked on my boat, the way mine is set up I can open the hatch, put the latches to the closed position and set the hatch down on the latches. This allows for some air movement if you leave the window open in the door to the aft deck. The small air gap has never let any water in ...
