Re: Strange Marinette?
Not sure whether 50's or 60's..can't remember my full Marinette history. But here's a shot turned up quickly in a google search for "Marinette houseboats" and you will find lots more. Look familiar? This one is from a company sales brochure but there's no copyright date on the page which a...

Re: transom gate and swim platform
A thought on the gate: use a vertical slat, the kind they use on many sailboats to keep water out of the cabin. Nothing to swing, minimal hardware. Could be fashioned out of indestructible Starboard or teak. easy to store (vertically in slots on the side of the deck).

Re: Help identifying switches at helm
The first one...red circle...is easiest. It appears to be the parallel switch that ties both battery banks together. The main bank is on starboard side and the stbd engine gets a bit more juice when you start just as matter of course. The port doesn't get the same jolt, so if you hold the button in ...

Re: Value question 32 express bridge
If MartinDesign truly loves the boat and intends to come back to the sport after a few years, doing the math would be useful. Tally the cost of mothballing, storage, insurance (yes), de-mothballing. Compare that to what you're likely to get for the boat (always less than you think or hope), banking ...

Re: starboard raw water pump
In saying "I may have this backwards" do you mean you may have installed the impeller backwards? If so, you'd see very obvious bubbling coming from under the boat.

Coarse is right. Glad you could smooth it out for the owner. Great gumshoe work (what can go wrong will go wrong)

Re: Fresh Water Holding Tank Pump
Not even sure if they have a pressure switch. Something overheating? Motor? Jabsco has great tech people. And the units are easy to repair- usually. If you learn the cause, please post. UPDATE: Sorry, I misread the question and goofily thought you were referring to waste pump. The words holding tank...

Re: Just bought my 1st "M" and need some help..
I would modify what Wayne recommends: If there's ANY fuel in the tank, replace the fuel. Four years is way too old with any ethanol formulation. YOu could, very carefully, filter it but that is way too much effort for the value of the remaining fuel. Maybe, you could shlep it home and use it for you...
