Mine is located above the transmission next to the voltage regulator.

Might be of assistance, I'm having the same problem currently. I've finally tracked mine down, to the voltage regulator field relay.

26' Marinettes are wider than 10' also. There's a post already going on this. They are not bad to tow, but trailers can up the price.

Re: Looking for a 26’ Marinette
I can vouch that a 1965 26' is wider than 10' tried my hardest to fit my friends in a slip with a lift in it. There's not much difference in size between the 28 and 26 models. A couple inches here and there in different locations. This said the 26 boats are layed up very light compared to the 28s.

Check the oil cooler. Had one on my buddy's AMC 327 do it. We found it after we did head gaskets.

I've used a piece of carpet for mine before, no matter what you do if the silt is soft enough the hull will touch, with carpet the silt will wash onto the carpet and still act as an abrasive.

Rockxx that's the way the original owner of mine told me to check the fluid level. One thread is to check it.

Dave, the old boats did use the $100 thermostats. They are in the 4th column.

Re: Engine Over Heating
Radiator cap is easy to check. Had mine go bad this year it won't allow water to transfer from expansion tank or build pressure properly
