Yah - spark plug wires were not even on my list of things to check. I will start digging into it today.

Re: which prop is better
I just switched from 16 x 17 3 blades to 18 x 15 Dyna Quads and love them. Just feels like much better control and better hole shot.

Re: Stalling Problem
Hey FJ<
Just rebuilt Rochester Q-Jet. Does not mean I did it correctly. Idle screws were all the way out during process, so perhaps I need to go all the way in and back out a turn or 2. Mallory ignition

Stalling Problem
Well,, I have a gremlin of sorts I cannot locate. Last season I had an issue with SB engine stalling when docking. Replaced starter, carb, exhaust manifolds this season, and same issue. Litterally happens every time. Now it will work perfectly for 2 hours while we are out on the lake, but 100ft from...

Re: Engine stalls after getting to temp
You have a black and red coming from Pertronix Dist. Black goes to negative side of coil, Red goes to positive side of coil . From Key - you should have ST or S and ING or I. The S goes to starter solenoid, the I goes to positive side of coil. So the "I" wire and the Red from Pertronix bot...

Re: Engine stalls after getting to temp
Think you need to upgrade your coil at the same time with an internal resistor. Then wire directly to coil and key - throw external resistor and ignition mod in the trash.

Re: Stall when warm
Good thoughts Jeff - Rochester q-jets. I rebuilt them, but doesn't mean correctly. I often suspected the choke. I will check that out. Port engine, same set up and is fine.

Stall when warm
After running the engine for some time, typically as we are coming in to dock, the Starboard engine wants to stall, and not keep idle. When I put these guys back together, I opted not to install intake manifold with the block of plates for the exhaust crossover. I have thermal choke on the carbs, so...

Re: Stantions and railing mods
I took the round ones holding the rails on the side of the flybridge and tried to have them powder coated and it did not work. Not sure if that is a funky kind of cast aluminum or what, but i sandblasted them and clear coated. They are not as shiney as stainless, but good enough for who they are for...
