Re: bilge pump switch

Both of the 28' express that I've owned were wired so the float switch went directly to the battery on a fused circuit.. it saved my boat once when I left it up in Duluth for a few weeks. They got excessive rain( 10" in a week) and my shaft log leaked a bit and to top that off the hose for the ...

Re: dome lights not working Where is ground buss located?

We see this all the time, I work as a service supervisor for a large diesel engine manufacturer. Just because there is voltage does not mean the wiring will carry the proper amperage. In our shop We use load testers or a headlight to make sure that wiring can carry enough amperage/load.

If I understand the system correctly I would think the gastket should stop flow from the manifold to the elbow so that the two are isolated from...

Re: Exhaust manifold removal

Compression test, doesn't matter much if it's cold or warm in my opinion. what you want to look for is one or more cylinders that vary greatly from the others, 10 percent or less differential is the rule of thumb.if they are all low squirt some penetrating oil in each cyl and test again. A scored cy...

Re: Mechanical to electric fuel pumps

Good advise, for mechanical pumps are more reliable in the long run. The main advantage of the E-pump is priming the carb. Jeff I myself am a fan of seeing some oil pressure on the guage before my engine fires up so I've never let a long crank time scare me. If your engine is tuned up and you have ...

Re: Stantions and railing mods

My '78 28 express had an opening in the transom rail, directly in the center. The opening had a chain to close it up, just like the openings to the cockpit on the port and starboard sides.

Re: Dual pocket water pump plumbing.

I should say, impellars ar good, plenty of flow verified by pulling hoses off various fittings.
