So Jeff, would you then recommend a 15w40 High Mileage oil for '88 (original - 1000 hours approx each) 318's? Asked the "decent shade tree mechanic, but not an expert" guy. What is your oil pressure once warmed up? This reminds me, I need to check mine with a gauge to verify my helm gauge...

I even blew up the picture and am not seeing a piston notch. But YES, that notch needs to face rearward for reverse rotation engine. When I rebuilt mine people sworn up and down that they always faced forward, but that offset wrist pin needs to be on the correct side. So sorry this happened, yes its...

glad to hear the engines don't have to come out. Even though thats probably the easiest part LOL. I probably spent a combined 60 minutes removing and resetting my engines in my M ( NOT counting hooking everything back up). You know we are all picture hungry from the head removal.

NOOOOO, hate to hear that!! If you have closed loop cooling do you really need the felpro marine gaskets?
