Re: portable generator
I ran a small 2000 watt Honda for a few years on other boats, worked awesome . I just made up a power cord as Busia described and that keeps the breakers in line . Wound up installing a small job box (Stanley plastic model @Lowes) on the platform and it kept the generator protected , and provided a ...

Re: cushion foam smell removal

Re: Repower Discussion
BigM I got the motor back from the engine shop on Friday. Still warm from the test stand. Installed in the engine bay on Saturday and fired up on Sunday morning . Motor sounds good and has real good oil pressure. It is getting late in the year, in TN,and the marina's closest to me are not open on Su...

Re: Engine oil
A lot of people have recommended that I use Brad Penn oil , especially with a non roller cam. It has something to do with the new oils do not contain the zink(?) that the older oils did. I like the synthetics in other applications , less heat generated and better lubricity. FastJeff or any of the ol...

Re: Repower Discussion
An update to my earlier post. At 23 hours the starboard motor lost oil pressure and got a loud knock. I shut it down and limped in . Sounded like a rod bearing. I went through the ordeal of pulling the boat and motor. We keep the boat at a dock , not a marina buy any stretch . Gravel and dirt ...

Bill ,thanks for sharing with us . We all have had some pain out there like this. I now run the Mallory system( P.O. installed them for me, :D ! ) , and make sure the caps are the correct ones when I get them. More $$$ but sometimes you get what you pay for. I've done the GM HEI switch in other boat...

Re: Closed cooling for 305 V8
Look up Mercruiser 198 , 2bbl set up I had in a 1984 Chris Craft , ran awesome and real good on gas. All the parts for a 350 also worked on the 305 , as far as cooling was concerned.
