Re: Need a strut

On the sign-in page for this forum, scroll down to the lower section and you'll see how the forum is organized. One of the section is for Vendors. Very helpful. It is not for asking general questions. Rather it's for posting a list of parts sources with whom you've had favorable dealings or a place ...

Re: Stern railing design

There seems to be no nautical name for it - we called it a skirt and so it was.

Re: Non Skid grit paint

When I had boat repainted the painter used non-skid on the walkaround (and maybe the swim platform, too). Very effective. Sorry, can't recall the details of what he used but think it was an off the shelf product that mixed with the Awlgrip.

Re: Running light bulbs

When you upgraded to led for the anchor, port and starboard did you have to replace the fixtures or is there a conversion for using the old fixture? Modern LED's fit a variety of sockets. They have standard designation and you just have to make sure you know what socket you have -- the fixture mfr ...

Re: How to remove pump from wheel?

Sorry if I have this recollection wrong, but the mfr of the steering system may be Hynautic. Call them for quick, accurate advice. Also, don't recall anyone ever posting that seat base or headliner must come down.

good luck with this big project

Re: Marinette 39 Sedan Transport plan

At the risk of repeating what you already know, here's one piece of the transportation plan that always is mentioned by those who've moved a boat with a flybridge. That is, be very careful to label every wire you disconnect. That will save you much aggravation at the other end. I'd add one more for ...

Re: Do the Anodes have to be bolted to the hull or can they by glued?

My anodes are getting eaten up and there was still some pitting. I do Not want to drill through the hull to mount additional stuff near the props so I guess I will just replace what I can where it was originally placed. In the 20+ yrs I've been following Marinette forum posts, no one has suggested ...

Re: Do the Anodes have to be bolted to the hull or can they by glued?

Using adhesive to attach anodes prevents the two metals from making contact which is the opposite of what you must achieve. Very bad (and useless) idea -sorry to disappoint. Assuming your keel anodes are properly attached, what's the condition of the anodes on your trim tabs and rudders? Is the shaf...
