Re: Nightmare

Personally--and living hours away from my marina--i never left her in the water all winter.

I hope you get out of this okay.

Re: Storing Kayaks

What you have to watch out for is that the ends of the kayak don't protrude to one side so far that they can smash into a piling. (Ah-hem!)

I would think there's no way can you store them on the swim platform without their getting in the way. You may have to live with that.

Re: Storing Kayaks

I would think you could fabricate a simple wooden rack to store them on the swim platform. But upside down since it's hell trying to pour the rainwater out (like trying to dump water out of a tire).

Re: Installing Diesel Heater

If you plan to run the heater under way, the exhaust must be located aft--right?

Hey, that's not far from where I live. I'll try to take some photos of her.

Re: Sanding to bright Aluminum

Concerning that slippery coating, I wrote: "That stuff sounds good enough for me to try it on my kayak."

Scott (nice fellow and a kayaker) replied that the plastic surface of a kayak won't hold paint. Oh well...

Re: Sanding to bright Aluminum

That stuff sounds good enough for me to try it on my kayak. (I emailed them.)

Not sure about their claim for using on bare aluminum without etching first. That surface layer of aluminum oxide that forms immediately after paint removal is very slippery.

60 MPH!!! Are you serious? That would be the fastest Marinette in history.
