Do you want to put a fresh coat on the whole underwater portion of the hull or just a few small spots? If just a few small spots - you could probably get a away with sanding them lightly and using an ablative antifouling paint like interlux micron CF, Pettit vivid, or Sea Hawk mission bay. side note - that Vetus hose I used looks corrugated on the outside but the inner surface is smooth. It's been installed 2 years on my boat, no problems yet.

I've replaced most of my exhaust hose with Vetus exhaust hose from Jamestown Distributors. Good price. Used a combination of a utility knife, pliers, and flat screwdriver to remove the old hose. Slice hose with knife, pry with screwdriver, and cut wires with the pliers. New hose went on pretty good ...

They look a little rough but if you cleaned them off with a stiff stainless wire brush they would probably still have some life left to them. Additional contact points cant hurt. I have used the exact anode from Barkley Dave's link for the last 3 years. My engine is isolated from the shaft with a Globe Drivesaver, but the anode is on there for peace of mind.
