Re: EFI Repower
I replaced a frozen engine with a long block replacement. It was a big mess. The mechanic ordered the wrong rotation and talked me into converting it. The expensive manifolds had to be replaced and the bolt-ons from the old engine were mostly crap. I told the guy to replace bad parts not put them on...

Re: corrosion
I have to take off my flybridge to get my boat under the 14' doors into my winter storage. I use tefgel on all my screws. I works to suppress any corrosion and is a great anti-seize. Without it I would wear out the mounting screw holes.

All above good stuff. I wrote a novel about prestolite advance springs. I emailed the post to your email. If your distributor does not work you can't even time your engine.

Re: Gauges
You can adjust the tachs with a tiny screw driver. A cheap test tachometer can be had for under $20. Mine will only read to 2500 rpm. Get one of the newer cordless optical/laser models with some extra reflective strips from Amazon. If the 400 rpm difference is constant you should be able to adjust t...

No small leaks
I had a small leak in the pipe feeding the toilet valve. This caused the front bilge pump to activate periodically so I turned off the city water when I left the boat. Then I noticed that the front bilge pump was running a lot more often even with the city water turned off. The inlet port had busted...

Re: Kicker on a 28 ft express or fisherman
I've seen a 25 hp motor mounted to the swim platform up on Lake Superior. It was a simple wedge shaped mount welded out of thick (1/2" inch) aluminum plate bolted to the swim platform. The motor had complete hydraulic controls hooked to a hand held module. I took a lot of pictures but I can not...

Re: Sliding Door Lock, 32 Sedan
I got simple sliding bolts attached to the top inside of the door frames. They slide into holes drilled into the underside of the top door casement. You still need to find locks to keep the door closed from the outside. Check with a patio door and window servicer.

Re: Topside/Exterior Paint
I used Brightside on my 32'. I also used e2000 on the walk around deck as a primer. I could not thin the e2000 much cause the thinner will melt the old paint. The deck had a bunch of "spiderweb" cracks which I need to fill. The interlux agent suggested the e2000 to bind the old and new fin...
