Re: Leaking Fuel tank

I will try to show some pictures from my phone here. They are what I pumped off the bottom of my fuel tank. The gas looks blue from an additive to help with the alcohol in the gas. I will drain the tank and start the summer with new gas.

Re: Seahawk Colorkote - Question on usage

The Zinc Omadine is what is in the E- paint I use, the Copper Thiocyanate is what is in Trilux paint, and others. I won't use it. It is supposed to be safe, but it is still a copper compound.

Jeff's Kayak?

Agreed. Just making a point on how outdrives can turn in either direction (with the motor normal rotation).

I would take the freshwater-cooled engine you have and check it out. Put a borescope in the sparkplug holes and look for rust. If it looks OK I would build a stand for it and connect water for cooling, gas to the carb, and a battery. Start and run it for a while. If you're happy with it put it in th...

Not the pitot tube. The PILOT tube, also known as the PRT or pilot relief tube.

Re: Water on floor in salon

The pitot tube is for measuring airspeed.
The pilot tube is for draining fluids.

Re: A little crazy?

First, do you have the hull on a trailer? If not, get one. It will pay for itself. Then with a forklift or just hydraulic jacks, heel the boat over to one side so it is only 11' 6 inches wide. ( I put timbers across my trailer front and back. Set the hull on the timbers and laid it on one side then ...
