Re: Help identifying switches at helm
Picture 4 with the purple circle is the spot light control. You can see and hear the trim tabs work if you look, even in the water. Underway you will feel the trim change. Good luck, Ed

Re: Marinette saves garage.
Just bang out the dents in the boat, it will be fine. To put pics here you need to shrink them. So go to shrinkpictures.com and you can make a little pic for your avatar too.--Ed

If you can't find an auto body shop, try an aircraft repair shop or a good welding shop. ----Ed from Hamtramack

Re: Steering Stuck
Different year boats had different makes of steering. I think I had Steermaster, made in Detroit. Most makes are out of business, a few parts are available from Glen-L boat company if you check with them. Found it to be cheaper and faster and better to just replace it all. Went with Teleflex (?) ste...

Re: Custom rear top fabrication
Any good welding shop can make that for you. I would start with 1/8 plate, but roll the bottom edge up to a "J" shape so it is not sharp (or weld a separate channel to the bottom edge) You will bump into it so you don't want it sharp, and a J shape will give you a gutter. You could also ma...

Re: Aluminum in Salt water
Yes, I agree it works well (the Trilux 33) and they sell it for aluminum boats. But I am not going to rely on a barrier coat for separation. I sand blasted to bare metal and used a two part epoxy primer. Then two or three coats of zinc based E-Pro bottom paint. Not real happy with it but I feel it i...

Re: Aluminum in Salt water
The Trilux 33 works good, but I won't use it because it has copper in it. They say no tin, but do admit it is copper based.

Get the glass and info from a good glass shop. Silicone caulk is good, but you can't paint it.--Ed

Re: Exhaust hose advice
Lots, and lots of soap. More soap you use, the easier it is, and easier to wash your hands when you are done. In some places you can start the hose and then put a 2x4 across the end and smack it with a hammer. Watch out for that wire! If the hose was cut with a saw the wire will be extra sharp. Do y...
